Embarking on a luxurious 2024 Lexus TX 350 journey to the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa in Palm Desert, I enjoyed the opulence of the new SUV, its sophisticated design, advanced infotainment system, and cutting-edge safety features during the leisurely two-hour drive from Los Angeles.
This year marks the debut of the Lexus TX on the road network. Channeling the distinctive Lexus driving experience, the TX is meticulously crafted by seasoned Lexus drivers. This vehicle is exclusively produced in the U.S.A., at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Indiana. Every aspect of this optional SUV model, be it six or seven-seater, was meticulously designed to deliver the utmost comfort for a road trip.
Upon arrival at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa, professional valet and self-parking services are available in a sheltered parking structure to shield the vehicle from external elements. Pulling up to the valet, the staff members approached with astonishment, admiring the elegance of the ‘Lexus Texas’. It stands out as a grand, commanding vehicle, promising a delightful driving experience.
Safety
The 14-inch infotainment screen keeps drivers informed throughout the journey. The powerful radar and camera systems are capable of detecting potential frontal collisions, providing steering assistance, and implementing automatic braking to prevent or minimize the impact of a collision.
By activating the All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Curve Speed Management, drivers can experience reduced driving strain as the system constantly monitors visible lane markings and detects vehicles ahead. This system not only offers steering support but also recognizes and alerts drivers to unintentional lane departures at speeds over 32 mph. This cutting-edge system serves as a warning mechanism, assisting drivers in realigning their vehicle within the designated lane and even making minor corrections to maintain a steady lane position.
The optional Head-Up display offers drivers a digital projection of essential information like speed, speed limits, and navigation guidance. The camera also captures specific road sign data, displaying it on the instrument panel and Head-Up display.
Standard features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, along with an in-dash navigation system and a wireless smartphone charging pad.
Drivers can opt for a Drive Connection trial or subscription to enable voice control for most in-car functions, such as adjusting cabin temperature, controlling navigation, and managing audio settings. This feature aims to reduce distractions by allowing drivers to focus on the road without diverting their attention to various car functions.
Design
The vehicle’s daring design, accentuated by a prominent front grille spindle, offers striking LED illumination for the driver and onlookers. Drivers gazing through their rearview mirror will witness a spectacular sight trailing behind them.
The 2024 TX comes in seven exterior color choices, including Cloudburst Gray, Wind Chill Pearl, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, Nightfall Mica, Incognito, and Celestial Silver Metallic. Three interior color options are Peppercorn, Birch, and Black.
The 22-inch wheels of the vehicle add a touch of style and refinement, enhancing the comfort on both paved roads and off-road ventures.
Distinctive design elements include the rear signature LED Blade Tail lamp, ensuring that the Lexus TX leaves a lasting impression with its sleek L-shaped light bar lamp.
Comfort
The power-adjustable soft suede semi-aniline leather front seats offer heating and cooling options, although the addition of a massage function would elevate the comfort level further.
The thematic ambient lighting can be customized to display 14 unique themes designed to enhance visual aesthetics and ambiance. Additionally, there are seven USB charging ports spread across the cabin, easily accessible to all passengers, including the driver.
Interior Design
Lexus engineers dedicated substantial time to crafting the seating arrangements for passengers, including the third row. From hip angles to footrest positions, every detail was meticulously designed for all three rows. The front row, designated for the driver and one passenger, features temperature-controlled ventilated seats for added comfort.
The second row presents Lexus families with an option for a two-captain-chair configuration, ensuring separate seating, reduced conflicts, and increased personal space. Charging ports are conveniently placed for each seat.
The Lexus TX offers 20.2 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, accommodating golf clubs, luggage, and shopping items. With the touch of a button, the power-folding split third-row seat provides additional cargo space.
In addition to the retractable panoramic glass roof that the driver enjoys, the second and third rows benefit from the increased natural light penetration.
