When car designers transition to a slightly futuristic style, they run the risk of going too far. This could inadvertently isolate the brand’s longstanding customers.
As a result, most designers dial back from the cutting edge to integrate familiar elements. With the SOLLEI concept by Cadillac, they are embracing a classic paint scheme from the 1950s.
This all-electric convertible exudes Cadillac’s distinctive allure from every angle. Initially, it appears that the American luxury brand has revisited a classic and meticulously updated it with modern visual enhancements. Simply put, the SOLLEI appears both recognizable and revitalizing.
The exterior of the convertible boasts a stunning Manila Cream finish. Contrast is provided by the chrome and black accents, positioned near the underbody and bumpers on both sides of the electric vehicle concept. Inside, premium Nappa leather seats with pink iridescent coloring that changes hues under light.
In its official announcement, Cadillac describes the “SOLLEI as a celebration of the enthusiasm for travel and the celestial atmosphere, offering a rich sensory experience, unexpected revelations, and a sense of significance.” The cabin also includes lighting with a sunburst theme and aesthetic detailing.
The two-plus-two seating configuration accommodates beverage coolers and a secondary display for backseat passengers on the center console. Spanning the width of the dashboard is a striking 55″ telemetry/infotainment screen. Each seat’s rear is adorned with a splendid wood panel marquetry framed in brushed aluminum.
Catering to ornithology enthusiasts, Cadillac is presenting SOLLEI owners with a special set containing bird calls, notebooks, and storage for writing utensils. In addition to its eco-friendly powertrain, the vehicle incorporates bio-based materials.
