The season of celebrations is swiftly drawing near. For the ultimate party-ready hair in London, insiders flock to Duck & Dry, the leading destination for hair drying services in the city. Duck & Dry boasts four renowned establishments situated in some of London’s most delightful neighborhoods (Chelsea, Mayfair, Soho, and Islington). Each venue showcases beautifully designed interiors, adorned with marble and soft hues, distinctive egg-shaped styling stations, a continuous flow of Prosecco at the elegant bars, and communal styling areas perfect for starting the festivities early.
All salons are lush with greenery and playful elements like floral arches and vibrant neon signs, such as ‘great plumage creates great birds’. Since its inception over eight years ago with the flagship Chelsea salon, Duck & Dry has been crafting exceptional blow dries and updos in the city. The brand’s philosophy revolves around highlighting the natural beauty of every individual’s hair – a touch of professionalism and quality hair products from Duck & Dry are all it takes to enhance one’s hair to its fullest potential.
Established in 2014 by CEO Yulia Rorstrom, a former financial services management consultant, Duck & Dry has been a pioneer in the hair styling industry. Despite her unconventional background in beauty and styling, Yulia, a self-proclaimed ‘hair enthusiast’, hails from an entrepreneurial family. Spotting a gap in the market for a top-tier blow dry bar in Chelsea, where she was residing at the time, Yulia aspired to make exquisite hair styling accessible to all in a contemporary and chic setting, unlike the more conventional salons, and sought to instill a brand identity that exudes playfulness – a trait integral to Duck & Dry. Even the whimsical name Duck & Dry playfully alludes to the process of stepping in and exiting with perfectly dried hair. Yulia strongly believes in the transformational power and added volume that a fabulous blow dry can deliver.
Hailing from Ukraine, Yulia has been deeply impacted by the ongoing conflict in her homeland. Teaming up with the esteemed Ukrainian stylist, Eka Kapanadze, Duck & Dry is introducing a specially curated selection of authentic Ukrainian fashion, home decor, and accessories to London this festive season. A pop-up event has been launched at the Mayfair salon from 7-20 November, followed by the Chelsea salon from 21 November to 4 December. 50% of the proceeds will support the designers, while the remaining 50% will be channeled to a charitable foundation aiding initiatives on the ground in Ukraine.
