A massive wildfire is currently devastating the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. Experts confirm that this fire is not only one of the worst ever recorded in the region but also has the potential to have long-lasting effects on climate change.
The Amazon rainforest is responsible for producing roughly 20 percent of the oxygen in Earth’s atmosphere. It is also home to a vast array of plant and animal species, totaling around three million, as well as providing a habitat for approximately one million indigenous people.
