Norse Atlantic Airways conducted its first flight from Oslo to New York on June 14, 2022, and since that time has broadened its services to include nonstop connections from Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Orlando, and Miami to Europe. The Norwegian budget, long-haul airline operates a fleet comprising 15 Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes, transporting passengers to six locations in Europe, alongside Cape Town International Airport (direct from LGW) and Bangkok Airport (direct from Oslo). The airline proudly flies only Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft due to their 25% lower CO2 emissions, 50% quieter ride, modern LED lighting, and improved humidity compared to older aircraft models still in operation worldwide.
Making long-distance travel accessible for everyone, “The Explorer’s Airline” provides two cabin options, Premium and Economy, enabling travelers to customize their bookings and pay only for what they require. Passengers may select from a straightforward array of fare types—Light, Classic, and Flextra—that correspond to their travel preferences and necessary amenities. Light fares represent Norse’s economical option, while Flextra fares come with the highest baggage limits, two meal services, an improved airport and in-flight experience, and greater ticket flexibility. Beginning in September 2024, all economy light reservations will also encompass a 22-pound carry-on bag alongside the personal item stored beneath the seat, presenting travelers with even more value and convenience than previously offered.
The Premium cabin boasts an industry-leading 43” seat pitch and 12” recline, ensuring passengers arrive at their destination feeling rejuvenated and ready to discover. Each aircraft is equipped with 56 spacious Premium seats offering guests priority check-in lanes and premium boarding, in addition to complimentary meals, beverages, and in-flight entertainment on personal screens.
Norse presents an extensive range of flights to sought-after European locations this autumn, with many routes set to resume in May 2025. Flights operational throughout the winter include connections from New York to London Gatwick, the newly established Las Vegas to London Gatwick route, and travelers can fly from New York to Paris, Rome, and Oslo until January. Operating five times a week during spring and summer, “this new route will enable more vacationers to experience the stunning country of Greece, whether enjoying its rich culture and history or connecting to the globally renowned beautiful Greek islands for a holiday of a lifetime,” stated Bjorn Tore Larsen, CEO and Founder of Norse Atlantic Airways.
Additionally, in September 2024, Norse declared their new direct routes from Las Vegas to London Gatwick, running year-round starting at just $299 in Economy and $699 in Premium, one-way, which includes all taxes and fees. The airline celebrated achieving its highest-ever load factor, passenger count, and cargo volume in August since its inception. “These milestones are a strong testament to our value for money proposition and the commitment of our entire team,” remarked Bjorn Tore Larsen.
Remaining faithful to their adventurous spirit, the airline recently finished a historical flight between Norway and Darwin, Australia, marking the first nonstop journey from Norway to Australia. They also gained recognition as the inaugural airline to land a Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Antarctica back in 2023, when they collaborated with the Norwegian Polar Institute and Aircontact to safely transport essential research equipment and scientists to the isolated Troll research station in Queen Maud Land.
