Our room, though compact like many Parisian accommodations, provided ample storage space, an armchair, and a small table. The bathroom had both a tub and a shower, ensuring a comfortable stay. Breakfast was served in the cozy Salon Mosaic, which is flooded with natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a Japanese garden. The buffet offered a wide selection of food, including fresh fruit, cheeses, and made-to-order eggs.
For a delightful post-breakfast experience, we recommend taking your drink of choice to the adjacent Salon Velin. This elegant sitting room is decorated with arc-shaped lamps, artworks reminiscent of Jackson Pollock by Martina della Rocca, and shelves filled with books on various subjects. The glass-topped tables and plush armchairs and sofas create a welcoming environment for literary conversations or quiet moments of reflection. Just beyond is The Signature Bar, which has a vintage cigar bar aesthetic with its low leather armchairs and mahogany walls. On Monday evenings, jazz performances transport guests back in time.
The owners of the hotel, Denise Dupré and Mark Nunnelly, who also own properties in Champagne, Burgundy, and St. Barts, have planned a series of author evenings to pay tribute to the hotel’s literary past. These events are scheduled to begin in the autumn. With attractions like the Seine, the Louvre, and the Musée d’Orsay within walking distance, the Pont Royal Hotel is the perfect centrally located base for exploring the city.
