Those fortunate enough to be present at CES 2023 must be feeling envious. The event showcased a plethora of incredible technological devices soon to be available in the market. Additionally, automotive manufacturers were actively displaying prototypes and ideas for their upcoming electric vehicles.
Among the participants, Peugeot stood out by revealing Inception.
Not since Tesla’s unveiling of the Cybertruck have we witnessed so many angular features on a vehicle. While we personally prefer a more subtle futuristic design, the French brand’s approach exudes a rugged charm. There seems to be a hint of muscle car influence in its aesthetics that’s undeniably attractive.
However, beyond its avant-garde appearance, the Inception also boasts an impressive electric powertrain system. Equipped with a 100 kWh battery, this EV promises a remarkable range of up to 500 miles on a single charge. If the final production model lives up to this claim, concerns about running out of power mid-journey will be a thing of the past.
Furthermore, the Inception features an 800V charging infrastructure that utilizes wireless induction technology for a quick recharge from empty to full in under 30 minutes. This, coupled with high-performance electric motors on both axles, results in an estimated power output of around 671 horsepower and a sprint from 0 to 62 mph in less than three seconds.
“We understand that customers have high expectations for electric vehicles,” remarked Jérôme Micheron, a product executive. “With our new ‘BEV-by-design’ electric vehicle platforms, we are confident in meeting their demands.” Inside the Inception, occupants are treated to panoramic views thanks to slender pillars and a glass roof.
