All-electric hypercars are fairly novel when compared to their internal combustion engine equivalents, yet this does not diminish their allure. As manufacturers continuously pursue enhancements with each iteration, the latest models usually extend the boundaries even further. During this year’s Monterey Car Week, Rimac unveiled the Nevera R.
Its predecessor, the Nevera, was an emission-free hypercar priced at $2.4 million. Additionally, it boasts an astonishing output of 1,914 horsepower and 1,726 lb-ft of torque. Clients have the option to completely personalize their vehicle using luxurious materials and elegant designs. One can confidently state that the endeavor was successful enough to justify an official sequel.
Rimac emphasizes that the models released since the original’s debut in 2022 were merely special editions. Conversely, the Nevera R stands out as a distinctive creation for thrill-seekers who desire excitement on every trip. The Croatian manufacturer claims that, despite some visual resemblances, the specifications reveal a different story.
Reports indicate that the quad-motor powertrain now delivers an astonishing 2,107 horsepower and 1,995 lb-ft of torque. An internal 108 kWh “performance-enhanced” battery pack provides all necessary energy.
Consequently, the Nevera R can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in just 1.74 seconds, achieving a maximum speed of 256 mph. To ensure effective braking, EVO2 carbon ceramic brakes equipped with a silicone matrix layer are employed.
“The Nevera R represents a visual progression of the Rimac narrative, showcasing the Time Attack’s Lightning Green accents in a refreshed color scheme, both interior and exterior. The driver-oriented, highly customizable interior of the Nevera has received updates with more color and trim selections,” explains Rimac. Only 40 units are slated for production.
