Similar to consumer electronics, the car industry consistently pushes boundaries to provide vehicles that satisfy the desires of selective individuals.
Basic and mid-range editions receive gradual enhancements, while luxury or high-performance platforms are crafted to almost flawless standards. Occasionally, intriguing peculiarities like the ENGLER V12 emerge to cater to a specialized audience.
As manufacturers boost performance figures, it becomes logical to also upgrade the safety measures. From the most luxurious hypercars to the simplest commuter vehicles, these machines envelop passengers in a protective cocoon that absorbs and redirects the potentially fatal forces from accidents. Yet, some individuals seek the excitement that accompanies risk.
The Engler V12 possesses the appearance and capabilities of an unattainable luxury car but is essentially a quad bike designed as such. Rather than a conventional sporty cabin, you mount it like an ATV. It lacks a roof or doors, leaving you exposed to the elements akin to a traditional barchetta.
Despite the absent elements, the ENGLER V12 does not compromise on its core features. Underneath its sleek outer shell lies a carbon fiber monocoque chassis with 3D-printed titanium parts. Both the front and rear sections are also fitted with titanium/chromium-molybdenum alloy subframes.
True to its name, a powerful 12-cylinder engine sourced from an undisclosed company is mated to Engler’s eight-speed dual-clutch “micro box” transmission system. This combination purportedly delivers 1,200 horsepower and 1,200 Nm (885 lb-ft) of torque.
Weighing in at around 1,200 kg (2,645 lbs.), the ENGLER V12 boasts an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 1:1. Aside from its aggressive aerodynamics, it features bespoke aluminum alloy/titanium independent double wishbone and helical spring suspension.
Owners can customize the ride feel and responsiveness with its electronically adjustable shock absorbers. The ENGLER V12 showcases 20″ forged magnesium wheels from SMW Engineering wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
Ultimately, Brembo ventilated carbon-ceramic discs with six-piston monolithic calipers deliver the braking force required to tame this machine.
