In the last 25 years, LEGOLAND® Windsor has risen to become the premier family entertainment destination in the UK, captivating kids and adults alike. Here are the main 10 reasons to make a trip:
1. Extensive selection of attractions
The park boasts an impressive ensemble of over 55 attractions, including the soaking excursion on Pirate Falls: Treasure Quest and the immersive LEGO® NINJAGO® The Ride, offering an extensive variety of thrilling experiences.
2. Minifigure Speedway
Launching in 2024, Minifigure Speedway is the globe’s inaugural LEGO® themed confrontational rollercoaster that hurtles both forward and in reverse. This dynamic family coaster presents a genuine race between Team Legends and Allstars, led by a Minifigure captain. As per unanimous family opinion – my two young daughters absolutely adored the notion of the ride and its varying outcomes each time. To their delight, they found themselves on the triumphant side for all three rounds!
3. Magnificent performances
The performances at LEGOLAND® are a must-see. Featuring the all-new 2024 Heartlake Harbour Arena show – Captain Redbeard and the Legend of the Golden Cutlass – these shows, filled with stunning acrobatics, intense swordfights, advanced special effects, and comedic dive antics, promise to captivate the entire family at various intervals throughout the day.
4. Under-Twos’ Delight
Worry not when bringing a toddler to LEGOLAND®, as DUPLO® Valley caters with abundant gentle rides and introductory coasters. Additionally, the DUPLO® Valley theatre treats audiences to marvelous puppet shows. A particular favorite of my daughters was the retelling of Rapunzel, with an added humorous twist and hosted deftly by Laurie.
5. Imaginative Play Areas
Not only are there amazing attractions, but LEGOLAND® is also home to some of the most creatively designed and well-furnished play areas. No need for queuing here. These play areas offer youngsters a reprieve from the ride’s pace, giving them a play space and providing a moment for the family to reset and rest. The rocket play structure in DUPPELO® Valley is especially fun for aspiring young astronauts to scale and imagine a blast off!
6. Incredible Splash Pad
During warm weather, nothing beats a splash pad, and LEGOLAND® houses one of the best globally. Expansive, full of life, and safe for tiny tots, this splash-rich area features a plethora of DUPLO® animal sculptures, ranging from lions and giraffes to zebras and elephants, along with various interactive water elements. Do remember to bring swimwear and towels!
7. LEGO® Mythica
Unveiled in 2021, the park’s LEGO® Mythica zone brings forth an adventurous new dimension with gripping attractions like the UK’s maiden Flying Theatre Ride (Flight of the Sky Lion). Additional attractions include the gravity-defying Fire and Ice Freefall and the exciting twists of Hydra’s Challenge.
8. Queue management
True to its nature, theme parks involve a bit of waiting in line, as expected. LEGOLAND® enhances the experience with engaging diversions to curb the boredom for youngsters. For example, there’s a pirate ship for climbing near the log flume, and other attractions feature various entertaining activities to cheer kids while queuing. Moreover, multiple Reserve and Ride services can conserve copious park time.
9. The LEGO® Store
For LEGO® enthusiasts, the store presents an unparalleled shopping opportunity with its astonishing assortment and exclusive LEGOLAND® sets, such as the Tower Bridge and Classic TV Batcave. There’s no aggressive selling push, and it’s not compulsory to browse the shop, with exits conveniently shop-free.
10. Miniland
As a child, a day at Beaconsfield Model Village was a full adventure on its own. Within LEGOLAND®, Miniland is but one of the 12 distinct park zones, with enough grandeur to captivate you for at least half a day observing the miniature renditions of iconic structures like Big Ben, The Statue of Liberty, and the Eiffel Tower. My personal preference goes to the LEGO® reimagining of the Vallée Blanche cable car and chalet scene.
