The recently revamped VEA Newport Beach, An Establishment by Marriott focusing on the delightful golf course and sea vistas of Newport Beach and its surroundings, offers an exhilarating experience. Unique design features include an extended wooden pier-like structure overhead, and a circular inverted water feature softly trickling in the middle of the circular driveway, both paying tribute to the ocean and the nearby Newport Beach Pier.

Meeting with Heidi Drinkward, Marketing Manager for VEA Newport Beach at the lobby, she conveyed that VEA means ‘to observe’ in Spanish. “Almost all guest rooms boast views of the water and golf course,” she stated. “After nearly two years of extensive renovations and rethinking, the fresh building design, swimming pool, guest accommodations, and dining concepts have been revamped to center around the hotel’s location and vistas.
‘The innovative Pier Tower presents 33 distinctive suites,’ Drinkward mentioned. ‘The first level has a patio with golf course views, a fire pit, and s’more kit for evening roasting. The second-floor suites, dubbed Cosmopolitan retreats, offer two to four king bedrooms with a living area and kitchen.’
These suites cater ideally to multi-generational families, ladies’ getaways, and bridal accommodations. ‘The third level introduces Sanctuary Suites, delivering wellness escapes with natural decor, deep tubs, spa amenities, and serene ocean views,’ she added.
Located on the lavish 16th-floor Sky Suites, these one-bedroom suites boast a spacious living area with three glass doors leading out to two distinct view balconies. One balcony features two chairs and a table, while the other offers two recliners for guests to relish the splendid views.
The suite comprises a king-size bed fitted with plush Frette bed linens, with the spacious bathroom housing a shower and a separate tub in a spa-style wet room layout. Two cozy Frette bathrobes and VEA beach sandals await in the closet.
Guests can explore the expansive 14,000-square-foot spa with 14 treatment chambers, a new outdoor saltwater pool, and lounge deck. In proximity is a sizable fitness center inclusive of a yoga studio and morning yoga classes.
Following a day of beachside ventures or sightseeing, return to the hotel to unwind on the VEA Lanai with a glass of sparkling beverage. It serves as an idyllic location to celebrate life, observing the sky aglow with stunning red and gold hues as the sun sets behind Catalina Island.
