In the Gulf Coast of Florida lies Naples, a classic seaside town recognized for its gentle, white-sand beaches, vibrant waters, breathtaking sunsets, and endless expanses of untouched scenery.
It’s also a hotspot for luxury-seeking voyagers searching to engage in elite shopping, top-notch arts and culture, and refined dining encounters. But Naples isn’t merely a haven for grown-ups. Positioned near popular family-friendly attractions and some of the region’s finest beaches, Naples provides opportunities for countless interactions with nature and opulence.
During a recent visit to Florida’s Paradise Coast, which covers areas like Naples, Marco Island, Everglades City, Immokalee, and Ave Maria, my husband, 2-year-old son, and I fully enjoyed all the relaxed luxury this part of town had to present.
Edgewater Beach Hotel is an intimate 125-suite property with views of the Gulf of Mexico. Upon arrival and in the foyer, there is no dominant theme saturating the hotel’s indoor spaces – instead, there are subtle wood finishes, a blend of wood and terrazzo flooring, and a modest chandelier effectively separating the on-site restaurant from the front desk area.
The six-story yellow stucco building stands surrounded on three sides by guestroom structures. The courtyard holds the pool and outdoor bar, providing a view of the beach just a few steps away. On cooler evenings, a sizable fire pit with deck chairs overlooking the ocean makes for the perfect spot to capture the sunset.
With its compact size, picking accommodations at Edgewater is a breeze. For ultimate convenience, opt for a pool-view suite on the ground floor. While it may lack privacy as lanais open up to the pool deck, it’s a superb choice for families with older children as the pool is right at your fingertips.
Our family selected a 2-bedroom suite with an ocean view, an exceptional choice. In addition to the magnificent vista, this suite featured two cozy bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a dining space with a spacious table, a living area, and a full kitchen equipped with all the essentials like plates, glasses, cutlery, pots, and pans – essentially everything needed to whip up a homemade meal.
You could even arrange for a personal chef through services such as Take a Chef or Table at Home or opt to cook a meal from scratch in this home-like environment. Conveniently, a supermarket and numerous eateries are situated within a few blocks of the hotel, just a short 15-minute drive from Naples Municipal Airport.
Families, specifically, will appreciate the convenience of this beachfront hotel.
The Edgewater Beach Hotel also boasts Coast, an on-site restaurant well worth a visit. Indulge in dishes like grilled filet mignon paired with Maine lobster risotto, garlic broccolini, and red wine reduction; pan-seared salmon coupled with jasmine-scented rice, garlic broccolini, and orange-maple reduction (personal commendation); and zucchini noodle stir fry teeming with red onions, asparagus, bell peppers, rainbow carrots in a basil-garlic tomato broth. Cap off your meal with the decadent Monkeybuntz – a warm and gooey cinnamon-caramel pull-apart sticky bun garnished with vanilla cream cheese icing and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
