Villa d’Este transcends the concept of a mere hotel; it epitomizes a destination. Founded in 1568 as the summer retreat of Tolomeo Gallio, a wealthy Cardinal with a profound love for art, the Villa remained within his family for two decades. In 1815, it was acquired by Caroline of Brunswick, Princess of Wales and consort of King George IV of England. The Villa underwent a transformation into a luxury hotel in 1873 and swiftly evolved into the preferred destination for European nobility embarking on their Grand Tours.
Villa d’Este commemorates over 140 years of prestigious hotel heritage through a principle anchored in exceptional guest care, with a team that is adept and committed to meeting the requirements of the globe’s most discerning guests. The establishment offers a selection of 152 deluxe guest rooms and suites, complemented by four private villas strategically located for guests seeking exclusivity and seclusion, while still enjoying the full spectrum of amenities provided by the hotel. Three of these villas – Villa Cima, Villa Malakoff, and Villa Garrovo – cater to families and groups, while the Mosaic House serves as a romantic sanctuary for couples. Each villa embodies the pinnacle of contemporary luxury while preserving its captivating old-world allure and uniqueness, coupled with the intimacy of a splendid private abode.
